At C.H.O.S.E.N. Path, Inc., we believe talent shouldn’t be limited by zip code or bank account. The Skilled Futures Program offers vocational training support to individuals from under-resourced and historically excluded communities who are ready to work, but can’t afford the cost of getting started.

Why It Matters

Across the U.S., there are hundreds of thousands of open positions in skilled trades like HVAC, welding, medical technology, and logistics. These careers offer strong starting salaries and room to grow, but certification costs can range from $3,000 to $15,000, not including transportation or essential tools.

The result? A nationwide labor shortage and an underemployment crisis in our own communities. This program tackles both problems head-on.

What the Program Provides

1. Tuition Grants

  • Direct payments to certified trade schools, vocational training programs, or community colleges

  • Covers tuition, registration fees, exams, and materials

2. Tool & Equipment Assistance

  • Starter kits with essential gear—tool belts, uniforms, laptops for tech students

  • Provided upon enrollment and tied to progress milestones

3. Transportation Support

  • Gas vouchers, bus passes, or mileage reimbursements for travel to class or job sites

4. Career Path Coaching

  • One-on-one guidance for resume building, interview prep, and job searches

  • Includes mock interviews and job readiness workshops

5. Job Placement Support

  • Employer partnerships for direct job placement or apprenticeships

  • Local businesses get access to trained, certified, and job-ready talent

6. Graduation Completion Bonus

  • Optional $250 award upon certification to support entry into the workforce

Eligibility & Application

  • Applicants must be 17 years or older

  • Must demonstrate financial need

  • Must have a clear interest in a trade or vocational program

  • Must commit to completing training and participating in coaching
